The General Commissariat for Aliens and Borders - General Directorate of the Police, has issued a communication in response to the situation generated by the evolution of COVID-19, in which they inform us of the different measures being taken by the Administration to contain the spread of the virus and safeguard the health of citizens at all costs.
The General Directorate of Police, as we know, is in charge of issuing documentation for foreigners, and this is why, due to the health risk situation caused by the COVID-19 assessment, they have taken the following decisions:
- The service of attention to the public for the issuance of documentation for foreigners detailed below is abolished, expanding it only in cases of urgency duly justified and assessed by the police unit itself.
- Likewise, the previous appointment is cancelled and appointments already reserved are cancelled.
- The duration of these specific actions will be determined by the indications of the competent authorities.

- Return authorization
- Invitation letter
- Visa-free extension of stay
- Extension of short-stay visa.
- Certificate of NIE, resident and non-resident.
- Undocumented registration card.
- Travel document for departure from Spain (undocumented)
- Documentation related to international protection and stateless status.
- Certificate of registration as an EU citizen.
