Start of the Shock Plan in 2021
After more than a year waiting for another Shock Plan or Intensive Plan for the Spanish Nationality by Residence files, there is finally good news related to this process.
As of last Friday, March 5, 2021, the Spanish nationality files, as well as the Spanish nationality files of Sephardim, will have more officials to manage and qualify these applications.
HOW DOES THIS SHOCK PLAN BENEFIT ME?

This is not the first time that the Ministry of Justice has implemented a Shock Plan or an Intensive Plan. In 2013, thousands of files were expedited and allowed to decongest this process.
Also in that year, it was possible to swear the oath of Spanish nationality before a notary, so as not to saturate the Civil Registries.
After that Intensive Plan, others followed, and the last one took place in the second half of 2019. Thanks to this Shock Plan many files that were already in qualification were resolved and hundreds of thousands of applications were granted. AND WHAT WAS THE SHOCK PLAN IN 2020?
At the beginning of last year 2020, the Ministry of Justice already had on the table the possibility of launching a new Shock Plan, all backed by the good results that the 2019 Plan had granted.
But in March 2020, the covid-19 crisis brought everything to a standstill, and with it also the new Shock Plan that the Ministry wanted to implement.
In addition, and as in so many other things, the coronavirus and the evolution of the pandemic has caused everything to be paralyzed, such as the reform of the law and regulations on foreigners, the law on grandchildren or a new Shock Plan.
